Strange Fruit is a community created by three slash fans who like to draw. We have spent such long hours "brainstorming" that we decided we had to find a way to share our lovely thoughts with the world. This community is dedicated to bringing to light lesser supported pairings, unusual pairings that you may not get if you don't think about it hard enough, and pairings that make you wonder if the creator of such was under the influence of heavy narcotics.
But don't worry, same-sex fantasy romance is our anti-drug.
We hope to become a form of safe haven for those out there harboring secret slash ideas. We know you're there! If you don't understand what we mean yet, allow me to give an example:
I have a pet cockatiel. Like many small birds, he has a tiny brain. He does not improve his situation because he has a tendency to bang his head against solid objects and fly into walls. We find him a constant source of wonder and fun. He likes to look in mirrors because he think's it's another bird. We have taught him to give kisses, so he babbles and kisses his reflection. Upon viewing this, our sick and twisted minds churned up an idea. We gijinka-ed the bird(made into a human) as a bubble-headed, eternally naive uke, and gijinka-ed his reflection as a snarky seme who tries to take advantage of him (never fear, it doesn't work because the uke doesn't get what he's trying to do). We have pictures. Check the favs.
That's one of our more unusual pairings. Some are normal. Most of the time. Anyway, that's the kind of weird stuff we're talking about. We're hoping to feature work from yaoi, yuri, shonen-ai, and shoujo-ai fans, provided it's legal and follows deviantart rules.
Rules about submissions:1) It should be a pairing between two
gijinkas.
If only one is a gijinka (ex: human/cat-gijinka) that is acceptable too.
2) Submissions of pairings of gijinkas of real characters (from anime, OCs, etc..) will NOT be accepted.
If the pairing is based off of non-human characters from a fairy tale, folklore, or mythology, send the club a note and a link to it and we will consider it.
3) The pairings have to be Male/Male or Female/Female. No hetero, please.
Homophobes need not apply. No flaming please. We're all about love here.
